A Month in Little Rock

Little Rock July-August 2017

This is a long blog post because one of my very favorite places that we had the chance to live for the month was Little Rock, Arkansas. This city  is one of the BEST kept secrets in the south. The family life is wonderful! The churches and people were incredibly friendly and the ophthalmology program was top notch. There were so many things for the kids and I to keep ourselves busy while Jon was busy working. I was also able to contact a few of the resident wives and we were able to have a couple playdates while we were in town. It was wonderful to realize that there were other families in the same situation we were... Medical families stick together!

Here are some of the activities we had so much fun doing.

We went to many different parks, but our favorite was right across the street and it even had a splash pad!

The Children's Museum was a huge hit! It was a part of our membership, so we went back every week. We went a total of 4 or 5 times... The kids LOVED it! Their favorite part was the tubes that would blow scarves. So cool!

The Little Rock Zoo was AWESOME! We were actually able to do this one together as a family. It was a slightly rainy day, so we had the place to ourselves. Some great family time! We liked the penguins, the elephants, and the farm animal exhibit.

The kids and I went to a family run alligator farm! It was so cool and slightly terrifying!

One of my all time favorite activities was getting lunch at All Aboard Restaurant. They bring your food to you on a train! Such a neat thing for my kiddos!

One of the biggest adventures of our stay in Arkansas was the RAT situation we had in our apartment. We had a HUGE rat infestation. Needless to say, we moved into a hotel for the last week of our stay.

Hope turned 1!

We love Arkansas! Our time there was so special and so good for our family. I learned how to live simplistically in a small space with my kiddos. We learned how to entertain ourselves and get out everyday. I absolutely loved it and had so much fun watching my kiddos grow and learn.
